Orthotics refer to a field of specialty that is of utmost importance in the medical field. It is a branch that is totally concerned with the design, the manufacture, and the application of a one of a kind device that is more commonly known as orthosis. This externally applied device is often prescribed to modify and correct most foot position problems.

Orthosis is often applied to carry out special functions. It is often used to guide the actions of the feet to cure diseases. It is even prescribed to aid in the proper healing of the certain parts. It is also essential in the prevention of feet problems.

There are still other conditions that are either corrected or cured by the use of this special shoe insert. They include corns in the feet, unsightly bunions, sprains, arch problems, and a whole lot more. They can also be custom made or just bought off the shelf.
