Cooking Styles Are Considered When Designing Custom BBQ Pits

By Stella Gay

People that enjoy cooking foods on grills outdoors can exude a lot of pressure on people that are responsible for building the grills from a plan that the owner designed. Once started, customers will ask builders to give weekly updates on the completion date of the custom BBQ pits, and these people will get excited as that date approaches. All measurements will be tripled checked to ensure that each part will fit together in the final design.

Some designs are altered to include piping that leads to an underground pit that will be used for smoking meats. The owners will look forward to sharing these unique creations with friends at cook outs planned during the year. A great deal of people will enjoy the features chosen for each machine at social events planned year round.

The customization process allows workers to create pieces that are totally unique for each buyer. Certain features of the finished metals used will require specific patterns to be imprinted. Welds will need to be transparent on all joints and metal surfaces that surround the unit from all sides. Many designs that are created for tailgate party enthusiasts will be welded directly to trailers and towed to events.

Owners can select a variety of switches to use on the units during the cooking cycle. Levers can be installed that will control the output of smoke that will be used to smoke meats in a smoker. Other control levers will allow the cook to control cooking temperatures while meats are on the grill top, and gauges will be conveniently located that will display the temperatures of all surfaces that cook foods.

The finished appearance of the unit will be controlled by the type of metals used in the construction. For units that will be mounted outdoors, the designers will choose to use stainless steel to keep rust from forming on the outside areas. Different styles of trim are often welded on to create a look that is stylish but sturdy enough to last through many years of use. Units can also be used to warm guests during cold weather conditions.

The pit area can be dug deep enough to handle large pieces of wood, while still maintaining slats that can also be raised to hold steel plates capable of holding mounds of charcoal. Alternate fuel sources can also be fitted into the piece, so that the owner can cook with natural gas on any given day. For quick cooking events, the owner could alternate fuel sources and engage electrical switches that are properly placed in the unit for warming side dishes.

Some design modifications will cause delays to occur and delivery dates are missed. Some cooking options that the customer wants to have will require parts that must be special ordered. The finished product will be well worth the wait, especially when the customer gets all the features that they desired.

The time needed to complete each task is calculated to keep costs down and welds are done as each part is finished. The final design is never considered finished until the customer is happy so workers take whatever time is needed to create the special trays, grills, levers and controllers that the unit needs to meet the customers expectations.
