Attending Fun Art Classes Near Downtown Denver

By Serena Price

Denver CO has a variety of fun art classes near downtown areas. The first and probably the biggest is one of Denver's museums. They offer a variety of courses that can be accesses by purchasing the general admission ticket. They offer drawing classes that are led by a noted artist that shows his work in the museum. These courses are created in a light hearted spirit and can lead people who previously did not think they were capable of drawing or painting a successful piece of their own.

When thinking of artistic venues you are not limited to drawing and painting in this city. There are also courses that delve into textiles and many types of crafts. There is a local college where you can take a class or two for many different artistic paths.

A more liberal type of teaching that has sprung up in Denver are the locations that offer painting lessons in a very casual atmosphere that also supplies cocktails, snacks and an opportunity to socialize while learning. There are several of these shops and each one offers a slightly different venue while remaining basically the same.

Many of the studios that offer paint and sip venues have multiple themes and subjects to choose from. You must make reservations to participate but everything you need will be given to you when you arrive. This will include the canvas to paint, an apron to protect your street clothes and the paints you will need. They encourage you to think outside the box when creating but will also show you step by step how to paint your picture.

This particular studio has minimally twelve different venues that they work with and they are happy to host private parties and fund raisers. There are courses devoted to children under twelve as well as those over twelve years old. These offer the option of staying to watch or dropping the children off and returning when the class ends.

There is also a traveling sip and paint business. This company has partnered with other local merchants and vendors to use space in their shops for the sessions. The partners are sometimes coffee shops or a deli where there can be snacks and drinks supplied. One question they are often asked by their clients is if they can bring food and drinks from home. The answer is a resounding "no" because it is illegal in Colorado to bring food or drinks to a public function.

Most of the sessions are two to three hours long and all of the hosts provide everything you will need to create your painting. They use local artists to lead the classes and supply a wide variety of subject matter throughout the year. They accommodate larger parties and arrange to seat couples and groups together if at all possible.

These sip and paint sessions are becoming very popular in Denver. They offer a very unique way to experience many fun art classes near downtown. They are a great idea for date night with your partner or something to do with visiting friends and relatives.
