The Functions Of A Freehand Brace

By Eliza Mendoza

A freehand brace is a little fragment of either textile or rubber. It is dressed on the hands around places which engage in movements. These movements could be like writing, typing or adjusting. They help to position various parts to the hand as well as support them. They have a tube like appearance and are elastic.

These pieces of rubber come in different sizes. The piece that is worn around the elbow is not the same as that which is worn around the thumb. People have different arm sizes and hence this is put to consideration. They also come in an array of colors but most people like the ones that are dull in color.

A number of companies have specialized in their production. Their high demand has led to this. They are made through a simple process. The material that is to be used is first acquired . It could be bought from producing industries. A good example of a material that is used t make them is rubber. Rubber is in two major forms. There is the hard and inelastic rubber and the softer and elastic rubber. The hard rubber is used to make shoes and sandals. It is the soft rubber that is used to make these arms fits.

Once all this is done, the textile is introduced to the machines for the cutting task. The specifications are fed to the machines in the form of programs. Machines are preferred to human beings because they are faster and precise. Although in the past, this was done by men. The specifications are designed by the laborers employed by the firm. The specifications include the length, width and the thickness.

The free ends of the textile are joined together. The joining could be done by use of glue. This process is still conducted by machines. The amount of glue used is regulated by the programs running the widgets. The rubber or cotton attains a tube like appearance . The diameter of the in fit is still a part of the specification. In the case of cotton, a small piece of rubber is included in the manufacture for it to attain elasticity.

Theses in fits have merits. They help to treat bone abnormalities. Individuals who have mallet fingers are advised to put them on. They help in bone remodeling and hence straighten curved fingers. They are comfortable for activities such as writing. Secretaries whose job is writing many drafts require them. They help reduce the friction.

They have disadvantages. Hand in fits may lead to infections. Since they are rubber, they are hard to clean. Dust may therefore accumulate around them. If an individual has a cut on a finger and has the finger in fit in it, there are chances of an infection to the cut finger.

FreeHand brace is currently used for many activities in our daily lives since most of activities require a rapid movement of parts of the hand. Their modern quality has helped ease these arm activities. More people especially those involved in sports are using them.
