When it comes to making a quick or special dinner, some individuals prefer to create a single dish. One of the best foods to cook as part of a casserole, or other more elaborate concoction is that of poultry. Whether cooking on a stove top, or baking, one dish chicken recipes can save a lot of time in the kitchen.

When cooking any food which could contain bones, it is important to assure all bones have been removed from combining the ingredients into a casserole, or other dish. Otherwise, if a bone were to slip through, the romance could likely turn to disaster with the couple ending up at the emergency room. To avoid this type situation, simply pull the meat off the bone by hand, or better yet by boneless cuts of meat, poultry and seafood.

A clay pot, crock pot, oven or grill are often the preferred cooking methods for poultry. Whether a home or professional check desires to remove the bones is a personal decision. Though, if one does not and serves the meal to someone who becomes choked on a bone, then the individual may need medical attention, not to mention the potential of a lawsuit if the individual was eating at a restaurant at the time.

An oven on the other hand can be used for a number of different style dishes. Casseroles, pastas and other foods can make for a great meal. One of the most uncommon of chicken dishes is that of chili, though it has proven to be quite tasty to a number of individuals. As this version has recently made an appearance on at least one television cooking show, there is no doubt it will become more popular with home and professional in the future.

Stuffed breasts are also popular as a one dish meal. While this is the case, some may find it too light of a meal, while others may find it too heavy. Ultimately, it is up to each chef to determine what constitutes a one dish creation.

When it comes to storing and preparing food. It is essential that all meat, poultry and seafood be refrigerated at all times. After which, it should be cooked immediately upon removal. Otherwise, there are a number of health issues which might arise if individuals were to eat food which had been tainted either from sitting out too long, or not being refrigerated as required for safety.

As these items are the most popular when it comes to salmonella poisoning, it is essential to always follow these rules regardless of how poultry, meat or seafood are to be prepared. When using marinades, it is often best to marinate chicken 4-6 hours in a cold refrigerator, never leave any meat sitting in marinade outside a fridge.

There are several pre-made marinades, both wet and dry. Although, a good universal marinade is a combination of dark beer, soy sauce and ginger. It is generally recommended that poultry marinade for at least 4-6 hours, again in the refrigerator. Depending on cooking style, a dry or wet marinade may work best. Though, when broiling foods in the oven, it is often advised that only dry rubs be used.

Recipes can now be found on a number of food oriented websites. The FoodNetwork and Food TV websites also host all recipes shown on various programming. While these are good, bookstores and libraries often host a variety of books with recipes whether based in a single tradition, or multiple ones.
